Which areas need to remain available?
List the spaces you want painted and how each is used during a normal day. Identify entrances, customer areas, offices and shared routes that need special attention. Ask whether the work can be planned in sections and what temporary changes your business would need to arrange.
A useful first conversation separates your preferred operating plan from what the painting scope actually allows. Share the constraints early so the team can assess them.
Who handles access and approvals?
- Name the person who approves scope, colors and changes.
- Identify a site contact for daily access and questions.
- Discuss keys, security procedures, delivery access and parking.
- Confirm who coordinates with the property owner or manager.
- List furniture, stock or equipment that must be moved or protected.
What schedule is realistic?
Provide operating hours, important dates and periods when rooms are less busy. If you need evening or weekend work, ask about availability before including it in your plan. F & G’s hours and project schedule need to be confirmed for your specific request.
Discuss when each area can be used again, including ventilation, drying and the selected product’s instructions. Do not assume that a surface that looks dry means a space is ready for normal use. Ask who will confirm that the planned conditions have been met before staff or customers return.
How will changes and completion be reviewed?
Agree on how questions or changes will reach the decision maker. Ask how additional work would be documented and approved. Before scheduling, discuss final cleanup, the walkthrough and any remaining items so that everyone knows what the handoff should include.
Can my business stay open while it is painted?
That depends on the space, the work and the access conditions. Share how the building is used and discuss a workable plan before committing to dates. Avoid promising uninterrupted operation until the project requirements have been reviewed.
